MY SKIN CARE & MAKEUP
I struggled with acne for 22 years and so many products designed to clear acne and provide a more even complexion, made mine worse! I wish I had learned long before I actually did that all these harsh chemicals I had been using just piled on the reactions and led to more skin issues. I tried everything from the Neutrogena washes, ProActiv (had a horrible reaction!) Mary Kay......the list would go on and on. I was desperate.
Then I turned to essential oils and lavender changed everything for me. For the past 2 years, I have used it in my moisturizer once a day (at night) and my skin has been so much clearer and I rarely have a breakout! I use this moisturizer from Honest Co. It's a face and body lotion and I do use it on my body as well. It's not greasy, it smells amazing and it has done so much for my skin! Side note - I know there is a lot of controversy on stretch marks and prevention during pregnancy, but I used this throughout my entire pregnancy and didn't get a single stretch mark!
Also in the past couple of years I have noticed more wrinkles (laugh lines, crows feet....whatever you want to call them. I just call them wrinkles, haha) so about a year and a half ago I discovered this skin care routine from Arbonne that I use every morning and I love it! I have also seen amazing things about this particular product for lines and wrinkles and will be trying it very soon.
My makeup routine couldn't be more simple and I'm all about using one product for multiple uses whenever possible. This Arbonne foundation is truly amazing and I have been using it for 2 1/2 years and have only reordered it once! It lasts a crazy long time especially when you use a brush like this to apply it. Every now and and then when I'm going out, I will use their primer as well, which makes your skin feel so crazy soft. It's just a great way to apply your foundation really easily and smoothly. I only wear eyeshadow if I'm dressing up to go out, but I do use use it as my eyeliner! I find this palette from Honest Co has a good mix of colors for both uses :) To use eyeshadow as eyeliner, I use this $3 brush and dampen it slightly before applying and it doesn't move all day long. The only thing I truly do wear on a daily basis is mascara and I'm currently using this primer/mascara combo from Honest Co and it's okay, but when I'm ready to purchase a new one I'll be switching to this one! Ever since having my son I rarely wear anything on my lips (because I'm always kissing him!) but if I do put something on, this tinted balm has been my go-to. It's nice and moisturizing and not at all sticky.
